The Name Game

In what has become a predictable pattern of deception, Newsday is now reporting [CIA: No Iraqi Officer Link] that comments from John Lehman on Sunday’s Meet the Press that a member of Saddam’s administration “was a very prominent member of al-Qaida” were not true. The name of the Iraqi official who was in Saddam’s Fedayeen was Ahmad Hikmat Shakir, the name of the person who met with al-Qaida was Ahmad Hikmat Shakir al-Azzawi. Gee, those names sound sorta alike, yeah, that’s the ticket. Is is possible that Leeman employed Katherine Harris’ friends over at ChoicePoint to look at this list of names?
