Politicizing Hurricane Katrina

There have been numerous suggestions throughout the internet that “now is not the time” for punditry or political posts concerning Hurricane Katrina, there’ll be plenty of time later, and all efforts should be aimed at helping the victims. There have also been numerous posts about how now IS the time to be asking questions and calling people out on what happened and what didn’t happen. I think it is safe to say that when George Bush stages photo ops with fake relief stations and helicopters backdrops, it is past time to start addressing all the political bullshit that contributed to the disaster. Let’s see if the Mainstream Media starts asking questions about the Homeland Security Department that awarded a half a million dollars to a private firm to help draw up emergency plans for the Gulf region
