Man-Dog in the Hen House

What would you say if I told you that the Senator tasked with drafting new legislation designed to reign in lobbyists has received more money from lobbyists than any other congressional candidate this cycle? Something along the lines of “Holy Crap! sounds like a fox in the hen house” I would expect. (Unless of course you are X or one of our other detractors in which case you would throw in some sarcastic reference to Clinton.)

Now what would you say if I told you that Senator was none other than our very own mountain of piety, the Pope of Penn Hills, Mr. Cyber Charter Crook himself Little Ricky “Man-on-Dog” Santorum?

Sen. Rick Santorum, who has been tapped by fellow Senate Republican leaders to draft legislation tightening restrictions on lobbyists, has received more money from lobbyists than any other congressional candidate so far in the 2006 election cycle.

Mr. Santorum, R-Pa., received $145,946 from lobbyists in the period from the start of the 2006 election cycle through Oct. 31, 2005, according to an analysis by the Center for Responsive Politics based on the most recent data the Federal Election Commission has published.

Personally I have only two words to say: Chuck Pennacchio.
