Green Party Incompetence

Via the Spork Incident, the Post Gazette is reporting that the Green Party signature drive to get on the PA-Senate ballot for November was run with the same level of competence as the Nader-2004 ballot drive …. none at all.

As many as 70,000 of the 93,000 signatures turned in Monday by Carl
Romanelli, Green Party candidate for U.S. Senate, are invalid, Democrats claimed
yesterday

I am a bit surprised that it was this bad, as that is a contested rate of 75%, when for a successful challenge, Democrats would only need to successfully contest 28% of the signatures. I am always amazed at how incompetent the Green Party is when it is trying to play left flanking spoiler. Yes, 67,000 signatures is a high barrier to entry for a third party, but it is a barrier that other PA third, fourth and forty eigth parties have successfully climbed over on a fairly regular basis.
