At this stage of the game, I think it’s important to make one thing clear. A vast majority of Americans are pretty much not happy with how President Bush has presided over this country. It’s pretty clear that his policies have been a laundry list of one failure after another, and the only thing he’s managed to unite us over has been in animosity towards his administration.
The reason why this is important is pretty simple, avoidance of a third term.
So who’s ready for a Fred Thompson campaign? Hoo rah! I sure am. Fred Thompson’s an outsider that’s gonna shake up Washington with his radical ideas and his Washington outsiderness, get some.
Oh wait, let’s see what do we have here?
Wait a tic… That sounds a lot like Bush, and the rest of the GOP field (sans Ron Paul whom I admire for his conviction and principles based on the writings of the Constitution, though still think is looped for wanting to enlist pirates to take out OBL).
Here’s the point of this excercise. Bush has the support of not even a third of the country. People are over him, his policies, and just about everything to do with him. If this is the case, then our decision in 2008 should be clear on at least one point, DON’T VOTE FOR HIM AGAIN!
Yeah, I know, I know, he’s term limited, blah blah blah, but let’s face it, the name may no longer be on the ballot, but the policies most definitely will be. From Rudy Giuliani and his politics of fearmongering and his insistance upon copying Bush’s Foreign Policies almost verbatum, to Fred Thompson who also has Bushlike Foreign policies to go along with a side of heavy pandering to the socially conservative base, there’s one thing that’s pretty clear, Bushism will be on the ballot in 2008.
If you don’t want another four years with a President you can’t stand who’s only going to drive this country even further into the ground, don’t vote for the guys who are going to continue Bush’s policies.
It’s that simple.
