The Cost of Conviction

The Agonist blogger, Sean-Paul Kelley, is currently feeling the burden of his beliefs and the cost of his convictions, asking, “Why is it so easy for man to dish out what they like to call down here in Texas hard, rough justice, and yet so hard for humans to show mercy?”

I can’t imagine how difficult things are for him right now; he is championing the rights of someone involved with the killing of one of his closest friends.  I can’t express through words how admirable his efforts are in my eyes.  We all engage in hypotheticals every day but to be thrust directly into the eye of one such hypothetical, have it turned into vicious reality and to still stand up against the storm.

I can only hope to show such conviction if and when I myself am tested.
