Yeah, kinda like Police Academy. the first one was okay, I guess, but by the sixth or seventh the whole franchise just got silly. Ugh, and then the cartoon? Really.

Actually, that's why I didn't bother to watch any of it. I mean, the WH wrote the script, Crocker and Pet spent 2 days being directed - "prepped" - before their performance in front of the cameras, and the media was already running trailers hyping the premiere.

Problem was, I've seen this movie before, many times, and I couldn't think of one good reason to waste my time watching it again. It wasn't that good the first 6 times I sat through it, you know?

Well, that's kinda my point. I don't care if Patreaus delivers a performance like Rep. Boehner on the floor of the House, all teary eyed and shit; LOOK AT THE EFFING INFORMATION YOU DOLTS!

That is actually a very astute observation. I watched the testimony and subsequent analysis on MSNBC yesterday (all eight hours of it - viva Tivo) and it struck me that the immediate response was to fish for adjectives. Credible, powerful, blah blah blah. Of course, the analysis slowly became more in-depth but unfortunately it was the initial response that got picked up by the wires and is now forever etched in the conventional wisdom.

Is it just me or do they sound more like they're rating a movie and not congressional testimony?
