There’ll Be No Living With Him Now
Rudy Giuliani has made it crystal clear that he is the candidate who knows how to talk tough about fighting terrorists. His ability to actually fight terrorism may be suspect, but darn it all if he doesn’t at least know how to look tough talking about it. Unfortunately, if you thought his revisionist history believing, wardrum beating, bravado bloated persona was bordering on intolerable now, just wait.
This all coming from a new book coming out by Aaron Klein wherein he talks to senior terrorists about American politics. Not that one should exect Rudy to second guess himself or anything. My guess is that if he even acknowledges this, it will only be to further boast his bona fides on fighting terror.
Because, as everyone knows the person you really want to be your leader is the one that most pisses off your enemies.
Not that I necessarily want someone who will sit down and sing Kumbaya with terrorists. It’s just that at some point we’re going to have to come to the realization that the best way of dealing with terrorists is not necessarily to see how much we can piss them off.
Despite this, I wouldn’t be surprised if this message ends up somewhere in Rudy’s campaign sloganeering. It is, after all, just the thing for the persona he is trying to peddle to us.
