Around the Horn – 11.09.2007
Friday’s are usually reserved for posting pictures of ones cat or other nonsensical ways of exuding laziness. Being that I am not immune from this lazy Friday syndrome let me refrain from photos of my pets and rather give you a quick rundown of what is happening in the blogosphere.
- Fellow Pennsylvanian Chris Rabb takes corporate radio to task for it’s tendency to play fast and loose with the facts, in the case pertaining to the Jena 6 situation.
- Scarecrow over at Firedoglake opines on the value of America’s Stupidest Endorsement.
- Glenn Greenwald on the Mukasey nomination vote, “What happened to the Senate’s ‘60-vote requirement’?” which contains one more valuable nugget of truth – “four Senate Democrats running for President missed the vote, and all four had announced they oppose Mukasey’s confirmation.”
- In the shadow of Mukasey’s approval vote, the patriots at No Quarter are continuing the fight on waterboarding. In their own words, We Won’t Let This One Go.
- And I would be foolish to forget the biggest campaign story of the week, the indictment of one time Giuliani BFF Bernie Kerik. Josh Marshall summarizes the story in this way, “when it came time to choose a police commissioner Rudy chose a crooked, mobbed up cop. And he was warned about it all in advance.”
