Breaking: Clinton Campaign Workers Being Held Hostage in NH (UPDATED)
Right now, two volunteers for Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign are experiencing one of the worst nightmares one could imagine in Rochest New Hampshire.
A man with a bomb strapped to his chest walked into the Clinton Campaign offices and after releasing some workers, continues to hold two volunteers hostage. The man, described as in his forties with salt and pepper hair, reportedly wanted to speak with the candidate.
Clinton, however, is still (at the time of this writing) in DC, a campaign event having been canceled.
Nearby campaign offices of candidates Obama and Edwards have been evacuated as well as people from nearby buildings.
I wanted to say that my thoughts and hopes are with the volunteers taken hostage, and it is my greatest wish that they make it through this ordeal unscathed.
Update: TPM Election Central has it that one of the hostages has been released.
Update: More details on the hostage taker. Apparently the man suffers from a mental illness, and his marriage has been crumbling. Also, according to family members, he has been on a days long drinking binge, and believes in a government conspiracy against him.
Update: The identity of the hostage taker has been released.
Got something to say?
