Early Reports of Light Turn Out In South Carolina

Created: January 19th, 2008 | Written By: Kyle E. Moore

While I have predicted that it’s John McCain in South Carolina, the race there is so close that it any number of factors could affect the outcome.  McCain, the crossover candidate, is going to dread just about any time voter turnout stays low as he relies heavily upon the suport of those outside the usual Republican voting population.

So it’s not the greatest news that South Carolina voter turnout is starting off low, but it’s not cause for alarm yet; people were just sleeping in.  What could bode badly for McCain, however, is this killer storm we’re supposed to see here on the Southern Seaboard later on today.  Much like in Michigan where inclimate weather kept the independents home in Michigan, we may see a similar situation among new or lesser committed Republican voters tonight.

We’ll see.
