Oprah is all about Oprah who helped elect Aaahnold the groapernator, and Maria is all about her husband’s republican standing and the Kennedy fantacy. If you’re a real democrat you will not follow those two lunatics.

…I’m not saying this isn’t big news or that Shriver is a bad person or anything like that. But the audio that I heard was just, well, awkward and corny.

That said, I’m sure the “reveal” was pretty dramatic (that’s not something that comes through on the radio), especially since both Michelle Obama and Oprah can be electrifying to their audiences. And Shriver’s actual speech has little or no relevance to the impact of the event, which is entirely centered on the news coverage it got.

Thanks. I had heard it was a last minute deal–which, you get a lot of credit for spontenaeity(sp). Well, all things considered, this is all really ver good news. The momentum right now going in our direction is phenomenal. I’ll be honest, I wasn’t expecting this. I NEVER would have thought Obama would be competitive in California, and now not only does it seem as though he might be able to win my one time home state. but he’s pulled even in New Jersey which is deep Hillary country.

The whole point is this, and when I’m not so scattered mentally I plan on covering it more in depth. This momentum is incredible, and I’m not sure we’ve seen anything like it in a long time. It really has taken on the characteristics of a broad movement but it’s tied to a more pragmatic and routine political campaign. I think we’re in for some surprises tomorrow night, and even better, I think Obama is going to go into the post Super Tuesday tastes poised to win the nomination.

I’m going to disagree with Mark. I was watching it live yesterday on CSPAN. First, Oprah was amazing. I’m not a huge Oprah fan, but she was hitting all the right points to get women voters. Then Michelle Obama comes on and, to be honest, she sells Barack way better than Barack does. My Mom was watching with us and she was impressed.

Then to have Maria Shriver be the surprise guest…and it was obvious it was very last minute. She had no makeup on, was not dressed up at all, and had no notes or prepared speech. She just grabbed the microphone and spoke.

You really had to see the whole build up to that moment. It was amazing.

And judging by the traffic to my blog and the comments, people (women at least) were moved.

Anyways, just my 2 cents

I have no idea how popular she is or isn’t, but I heard her endorsement speech on the radio on the way to work this morning. She has to be one of the worst public speakers ever. Which is impressive for someone who made their living for years as a newsperson.
