What Do You Think? (TV)

I never used to be that big of a fan of television.  As my regulars should know (though I keep having to remind Mike every time he tells me to turn it on MSNBC or CNN), I don’t have cable, and haven’t had cable in close to seven years now.  My wife and I moved once, kinda slacked on getting cable installed, and after a few months we didn’t even miss it anymore.

But recently, thanks to the internet and DVD seasons, I am hooked on more shows than ever before.

Strangely enough, the same reason why I got hooked on tv again is also at least partly to blame for the writer’s strike which has seen a couple of my favorite shows suffer from shortened seasons.

So, here’s the question.  I haven’t been following the strike carefully, and when I mean carefully that’s to say not at all, so I have no idea how much longer it’s likely to go.  What shows are you having to go without because of the strike?  Are there any newer shows you think may not serve the extended hiatus that you’ll miss?  And are there any shows that you discovered online and have become addicted to?

Personally, I miss Heroes, even though the second season was kinda lame until the ending, and just as my friend got me hooked on scrubs the final season had to be truncated.  Also, don’t forget House, especially now that Kal Penn is on the show.  Luckily they are still airing episodes so that’s a huge bonus.

I was starting to like Chuck, but I’m not sure that one will make it through the strike.  And I have developed a serious addiction to the show Psyche on USA which I wonder about.  Their second season thankfully completed production and will air in its entirety, but I’m not sure if it will make it to a third season if the strike goes on too long.

So, tell me, what do you think?

  1. Good meme question.

Um…well, The Daily Show which is now A Daily Show is a fraction of it’s former self. Interestingly Colbert has not changed a bit.

The only other crap I watch that is not Hardball, Countdown or the Sunday talk shows is unaffected.

The Office … Chuck (it’ll survive) … Reaper

Best show you can still watch: The Wire.
