Gore Vidal was factually correct, short only in degree. It never ceases to amaze me how such a contemptible individual in life is near-deified in death. I suppose all the media will be saying the same for Rush Limbaugh one day: "Oh, he was so funny-- what a joker!" I'm sorry, but a person has to have some redeeming qualities to be missed. Simply having a vocabulary used to intimidate and obfuscate is not such a quality.
