Love That Cynical Demagogery, Hillary

At a campaign stop in Valparaiso, Indiana, Clinton grabbed her opportunity to exploit Obama’s infelicitously expressed message to Pennsylvanians who vote guns and religion because they know it’s useless to vote their pocketbooks:

“We don’t get bogged down and looking back – we’re always looking forward,” she said, as heavy applause nearly drowned out her words. “Whatever obstacle we see, we get over it. Whatever challenge we have, we meet it. We’re the problem-solvers, we’re the innovators, we’re the people who make the better future.”

For the third time since Mr. Obama’s remarks were made public Friday night, Mrs. Clinton criticized him at length, saying his comments seemed “kind of elitist and out of touch.”

“I disagree with Senator Obama’s assertion that people in our country cling to guns and have certain attitudes about immigration or trade simply out of frustration,” she said.

She described herself as a pro-gun churchgoer, recalling that her father taught her how to shoot a gun when she was a young girl and said that her faith “is the faith of my parents and my grandparents.”

Good going, Hillary. Obviously, Obama hit the bull’s-eye when he suggested that politicians in both parties use conservative social issues as a sop to economically struggling voters in the heartland. But hey, Hillary, you really are savvy about how things are done in Washington: Others may equal, but no one can surpass you in your ability to stick the knife in small-town and rural America and make it look like a compliment.

Hopefully, the majority of displaced, jobless, underemployed, poorly paid, debt-strapped Americans will hear what you really just told them: ‘Damn straight you’re not getting any butter from me, so keep voting guns and religion. And keep your sunny side up now, ya hear?’

It is mostly outside the daily range of consciousness of the majority of displaced, jobless, underemployed, poorly paid, debt-strapped Americans to focus on Obama nuanced original statement and his follow-up.

What is going to carry Obama is that he is enthusing millions of young first time voters and they are going to enthuse even more young people.

Maybe that would have been a better way for Governor Bill Clinton to execute Billy Rector, the guy Clinton chose to fly home from campaigning in 1992 to sign the execution warrant even though Rector was incapable of understanding his own death because he had shot his brain and made himself a truncated, lobotomized mess.

Hillary could have finished the job while out hunting.

Clinton Family Values, and Chelsea in 2016!

Hillary was greeted with groans and a few boos when she mentioned this in Pittsburgh.

    Damn those bitter people!!

Wait till they find out that Hillary and Bill have made the same comments!
