Note to Readers: We Don’t Control Our Ads

Created: April 8th, 2008 | Written By: Dustin

Some readers might notice, from time to time, ads for McCain in the google ad on the left sidebar.  We appologize for the inconvenience but, unfortunately, Google’s not smart enough to know better.  Please ignore these ads, for your own sanity if anything else.

I figured most people would understand this. Was there a complaint?

There was a reader that said this once. hmmm… Gives me an idea or two.

I brought this up with Kyle a while ago to ask if it would be beneficial if we started clicking on that ad every time we saw it here. After all, you get money for every clickthrough, right? And that money comes from McCain’s campaign?

Personally, I love the idea of helping funding this site with his money. I click on it every time I see it.

I like the idea as well but you should know one thing, with the way Google pays out we can click all day long and the best we can expect to drain from McCain’s coffers is a few bucks max. I think the first six months of Google ads paid back roughly $13.00 to give you a point of reference.

I always wondered how much people made from AdSense.

If McCain would stop bringing attention to himself, you might gets ads for somebody else.

But that doesn’t seem like it’s going to happen any time soon.

Got something to say?
