In North Carolina, Obama’s Lead Still Substantial, but Shrinking
With nearly half of North Carolina reporting, Obama still maintains a strong lead, though one considerably smaller than initial tallies were pointing to. At 46% reporting, Obama’s margin of victory in the land of the Tarheels has dropped to sixteen points.
Such a drop was to be expected, given that the twenty five point lead he once enjoyed was far beyond the prediction of any poll out there. So too, is a sixteen point lead, and I wouldn’t be shocked if the margin narrowed by more as we get more data in, but he still looks to be able to cash in on a greater than expected lead based on recent polling.
