You have to know who to hate. Americans are tribal. Southern Baptists know they are from a different tribe than Eastern Unitarians. Pakistani taxi drivers are tribal. (So says a liberal Pakistani mullah in the US who was trying to get them to liberalise their treatment of women, but he said they're so uneducated, they don't even understand their own religion). Twas ever thus. Separation of church and state is just so much gibberish to the washed in the blood of the lamb - they're not actually hostile, they just don't get it. Because they're tribal.
