An Interview And Some Notes

A couple weeks ago I mentioned doing an interview for  Skewz, in case you’ve never been, is actually a pretty neat site that not only aggregates headlines, but allows you to rate the bias so that when people come behind you, they know what they’re getting into.

Anyway, so the interview has been up for about a week now, and if you want to give it a listen or download it, you can do so here.

Some notes on the interview and an announcement (though not unexpected I suppose) below the fold.

For those who do listen to the interview, it was a blast.  Vipul was great, and while the interview tracks for  over an hour, the conversation it sparked from actually went longer.

Some quirks you may or may not pick up on.  I sound kinda like I’m out of breath for most of the interview.  This is because when I’m on the phone, and especially for long conversations, I tend to pace, and I pace pretty furiously at that, stopping just short of breaking into a jog back and forth through my house.

Also, at about forty five minutes in, if you’re particularly astute, you’ll notice I provide an answer that has absolutely NOTHING to do with the question.  Funny story behind this.  By the time the interview had started, I had already been up for well over twenty-four hours, and at that specific point in the interview was when I chose to sit down for a minute.  I could hear Vipul talking, but for a minute or two I just totally blanked, and then I heard silence and I remember thinking, “Shit, what am I supposed to talk about now?”

So that moment would be me trying to recover gracefully…

Other than that, it was pretty fun, and we talked about all kinds of things.

But the interview also kind of comes at a strange time, at least for me.  If you’ve noticed I’ve not been contributing here much… well, at all… recently, and there are many reasons for this, and it’s not likely to change any time in the near future.

I’m not announcing that I’m leaving Comments From Left Field for good, but I will no longer be a regular contributor, and likely will only come out every great once in a while for special occasions (such as, say, a presidential election).

I have, interestingly enough, been offered a paying gig in blogging, but it is as far away from political blogging as one can imagine.

So, we’ll still see each other from time to time, but it’s about time for me to take my bow and get off the stage.

Thanks for everything.
