    I have never hated anyone enough to wish that they were dead. Having said that, I will say that Jesse Helms survived 85 years longer than he should have.

    My favorite unsentimental Helms obit comes from the UK Guardian. From the first paragraph: “To echo this newspaper’s memorable comment on the death of William Randolph Hearst, it is hard even now to think of him with charity.” Ouch.
