BURN!

At times, there’s just no one that’s going to say it better than Obama (h/t O-Dub):

Yesterday, John McCain actually said that if he’s president that he’ll take on, and I quote, ‘the old boys network in Washington.’

Now I’m not making this up. This is somebody who’s been in Congress for twenty-six years, who put seven of the most powerful Washington lobbyists in charge of his campaign.

And now he tells us that he’s the one who’s gonna’ to take on the old boys network. The old boys network? In the McCain campaign that’s called a staff meeting. Come, on!

Now, I’ve watched the campaigns pretty closely pretty much from the very beginning, and there’s one thing I think I can safely say about Obama’s style: he prefers to give his opponents all the rope they need to hang themselves. He just, you know, knows when to tug.

Right now what we are seeing is an awful lot of rope.

Obama could really put McCain on the defensive this time — and maybe for good. It’s clear now that the GOP religion of deregulation as seriously damaged our economy — this is the religion that John McCain has subscribed to. This needs to be pointed out.

And I dunno about you, but I’m so sick of seeing whatever McCain’s latest two-face bullshit is.. Now he’s going to reform our businesses? Now he’s looking out for us? Give me a fucking break. If this man had any economic sense, he would make the connection between deregulation and the Great Depression — something which Republicans still deny to this day, which stymies me. Empirical evidence, though, has never seemed to hinder these people.
