Moment Of The Night

One of the things that really disappointed me watching the debate last night was that I didn’t have my mood meter, which, as you know, is one of my favorite gadgets for debate watching.  This time around, CNN didn’t provide it for we bums who were forced to watch on the intertubes.  But here’s what I thought was the moment of the night, and during our liveblogging it got us buzzing.  It’s the moment where Joe Biden really connected with America.  And as you watch it, especially towards the end, watch the mood meter at the bottom (h/t TPM):

Yes, and the most remarkable thing, imo, about that moment was Sarah Palin’s response to it. NONE. She just dived right into “Americans are looking for change and John McCain is a maverick” w/o even so much as a changed facial expression.

I truly think there’s something wrong with her just on a human level to be able to just act like her debate opponent didn’t just choke up talking about raising his family after his wife and son were killed in a car accident.
