I expect Barack will retake the oath, as a couple of prev Presidents have done. http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2009/01/20/MNAF15E20I.DTL

Barack hasn't taken the oath. He took an oath, but it wasn't the oath associated with the office. Barack took some oath Justice Roberts accidentally concocted, and which may as well have been concocted and sworn to over beers at a tavern.

To me, taking THE OATH has nothing to do with legalities, yet everything to do with honor, self declaration, principle, with a sacred bond. Such a thing is a statement of who you are as a person. It's kind of like voting: your vote - during your entire life - is never going to functionally make a damn bit of difference in any election. Voting is not about functionally making a difference. Voting is a solemn declaration of who you are. Taking the Presidential Oath is making a sacred bond with the people of the nation. I'm actually more interested in Barack's sacred bond with me, with all of us, than I am interested that legalities have been fulfilled to the letter.

Crisis and scandal is like Viagra to these poor political nymphomaniacs. What if a scandal doesn't exist? No matter, they'll just make something up. They're really embarrassing themselves.

But hey, with simple-minded tools like these wingnuts around, I wish Obama the best in his endeavor for post-partisan politics.

I kinda sorta loved the look that Obama gave him when he flubbed it too, kinda like, "You know you just fucked that up, right? That's okay, I'll give you a second, fix your shit, and we'll proceed."

Mac, it's because he's so upset that Obama is president that it affected his control. I really believe that.

Son of a bitch! These people couldn't have had the common decency to let me get to work and be fully prepared first!

Nor does it seem to have dawned on any of them that the guy was actually president by the constitution a couple of minutes before he took the oath.

How in the world could that Nutter Roberts blow the oath of office - one sentence, 35 words - on this historic day? What an embarrassment.
