Thank You, From the Bottom of My Heart

I never dreamed when Kyle put up his fundraising appeal for me that I would get even one-tenth of the response that I actually did get. I could not have imagined that in these horrendously hard economic times, so many people appreciate my writing enough to give me, in fives and tens and twenties and in a few cases in gasp-worthy larger amounts, not only enough money to get my Internet connection back, but almost enough to pay my February rent. I’m only $200 short (less than that, actually) of my pay-last-month’s-rent goal, and that is a much more manageable goal than it was before. Even though I didn’t quite get to the total, what I got will help me enormously, plus it’s beyond what I ever expected to start with (I only hoped to get back on the Internet).

There are so many generous hearts out there, among the people who read this blog, and Liberty Street, and the other blogs that put up posts of their own linking to Kyle’s. That is even more wonderful than the donations themselves. Reading the things said about me and about my writing here, and at places like Newshoggers, and The Moderate Voice, and Poligazette (longer list here) lifted my spirits more than I can say.

I’ve never fundraised for myself before, and so I’ve never written one of these thank you posts before, and so I hope that I am at least adequately expressing how grateful I am to each and every one of you out there who have made such a difference to my state of mind as well as to my bottom line.

Thank you. Everyone. From the bottom of my heart.
