First, the GOP now must recognize it will either lose without conservatives or will win with conservatives.

Uh, what actually happened was that a conservative lost due to lack of support from moderate Republicans, not the other way around. Talk about losing one's grip on reality.

It's a win-win for us. The teabagger right has learned the wrong lesson and is about to rampage through the GOP purging more moderates and replacing them with hard-liners who will lose in 2010. And we don't even have to pay the price of Hoffman actually taking a seat in the House.

This whole election cycle was really just a barometer for how the country feels. Clearly the GOP bleeding has stopped. Tea parties and huge protests have taken place all while Obamba's poll numbers have dropped faster than any President in recent History. Regressives and the Media have tried to marginalize their opposition as much as possible, calling them Mobs, Nazi's, Astroturf, and Unpatriotic ... all while a small number of arrogant far left radicals write Healthcare Policy in a secret room 1900 pages worth. CFLF blindly follows whatever Pelosi/Reid put out there without question nor curiosity.

Certainly NY 23 was a loss for the GOP, they fumbled the ball, picked the wrong candidate and lost the seat. Perhaps Democrats won ONLY because of GOP error. That said, the night as a whole should be more scary for Regressives ... sure the NY 23 seat was in GOP hands for 100 years .. but Obamba and Hillary both recently carried those districts.

While Hoffmann may have lost this battle, Conservatives sent a big message to elected officials aound the nation .. and put in a good showing in NY 23. This whole idea of Conservatives litmus tests to run in the Republican Party is just over analyzed. Democrats are at War with each other, can't even get all their members to vote for Pelosi/Reid Health Care, something Obama see's as critical to his efforts ... and when is the last time Dems highlighted a Pro Life Candidate? ... so both parties are in flux right now, end of story.
