In Remembrance

From my 2010 365 project "Day 137/365 6.4.2010 - Poppy" by Michael Tedesco

On this Armistice / Remembrance / Veteran’s Day I ask that you take a moment to remember all those who have fallen for your freedom. Without their selfless sacrifice we would not be here today.

In Flanders Fields
by John McCrae

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie,
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

UPDATE: I nearly forgot to mention my favorite charity, Team Fisher House.

On this day please consider contributing in the form of money or time to this excellent champion for military families. You can also follow them on Facebook and Twitter.
