Larry Johnson and His Bloggers, Class Acts to the End

Created: June 6th, 2008 | Written By: Kathy

In the spirit of Air Our Grievances Friday, it’s nice to see that Larry Johnson and his co-bloggers (linked directly because unfortunately this is a Meme Featured Post and thus cannot be linked indirectly, through Meme) are starting to come around and are no longer writing slimy posts oozing with racism while accusing Obama and his supporters of “playing the race card.” (See last sentence of quote, which I have bolded, for prime example.)

Larry Johnson Unites All Parts of Political Blogtopia

Created: June 2nd, 2008 | Written By: Kathy

Even the most hardcore right-wingers are making fun of Larry Johnson and his “stunning” video, aka “the Michelle tape.” Supposedly there was a tape of Michelle Obama using the word “whitey” and other “racist” and “anti-American” language, and supposedly Larry Johnson had a copy of this video, and supposedly he was going to post it on his blog at 9:00 this morning.

This Is What I Stayed Up For?

Created: June 2nd, 2008 | Written By: Kyle E. Moore

Yup. I stayed up until 9 in the morning (I work nights), and after weeks of hype it all boils down to a video tape that Larry Johnson hasn’t even seen. It really makes one wonder if he’s ever rigged elections in foreign countries this way, and if so, dear Lord why on Earth would anyone ever fall for this kind of crap?

Breaking: Larry Johnson Lost His Last Marble

Created: June 2nd, 2008 | Written By: Kyle E. Moore

Okay, I have to admit this Michelle Obama tape that Larry Johnson apparently has in his grubby little hands and plans to break on later this morning had me hyperventilating a bit.  I mean, I’ll be honest, I am pretty much 100% positive that the Obamas are not racists. I believe that.  But then, I wouldn’t put it beyond this whackjob to chop up a bunch of quotes taken out of context to try and paint Michelle as one.

Fox News Documentary: John Oliver Edition

Created: April 11th, 2008 | Written By: Dustin

With President Bush’s second term quickly (but not quickly enough) coming to an end Fox News saw fit to document his harrowing saga. Not one to be ignored The Daily Show’s own John Oliver made a documentary of his own, this one focused on none other than Fox News itself.

In typical clip-laden format John Oliver succeeds in giving Fox News a “stunning smackdown“, showing them to be the flip-flopping propagandists they are. It’s really too bad that humor seems to disqualify consideration for “serious” news because it’s times like these that really make me wonder how a Comedy Central station show ended up having some of the best investigative reporting in America.

In case you missed The Daily Show we’ve included the clips below the fold.

Hatelary

Created: April 11th, 2008 | Written By: tas

Hate being channeled by Hillary’s rabid supporters is one thing.  While reprehensible, the national campaign still can’t be fingered since this invective has been spewed on websites independent of the campaign.  But when the Hillary campaign starts promoting hate directly from an author on No Quarter, that’s different — and a lot worse.

And it’s one thing to have a No Quarter author link to and promote another hateful author, but when one of their own author’s is caught calling Michelle Obama a “blowjob queen” and a skank, that’s different — and a lot worse.

Over at Rumproast, Kevin K’s got the goods on No Quarter author Truthteller posting hated filled comments about Michelle Obama on different sites, and having one of his posts promoted by the Hillary campaign.  It’s detailed and you should read the whole thing.  And I suppose some will say that the particular post by Turthteller that the Hillary campaign linked to doesn’t have any overt hate in it, so what’s the problem?  Well, if David Duke said something mundane and I linked to it, wouldn’t — nay, shouldn’t – you have a problem with that?  Same thing here.  If the source is this hateful then it discredits everything else they’ve said.

And let’s make sure we have “hateful” clearly defined here.  Using profane language to express feelings of anger is simply that, but making misogynist comments about Obama’s wife, calling her a “blowjob queen” and a “skank” — that’s just hate, pure and simple.

When the Hillary campaign is promoting an article from an author like this, they’ve stepped over the line.  They’ve become connected to No Quarter.  And now the campaign has something we deserve an answer for.
