The Black Panthers Are Coming To YOUR Neighborhood!

Created: November 4th, 2008 | Written By: Kathy

Another Townhall.com blogger, Matt Lewis, this time with audio of Rush Limbaugh talking about “Black Panthers [heavy emphasis on those two words], in Philadelphia, intimidating voters.”

“Imagine,” Lewis intones, “if this was Skin Heads in Georgia or Florida trying to intimidate voters.”

Yes, indeed. Imagine if skinheads were trying to intimidate voters in one voting district. One. Not even two. One. Only one. And imagine what the wingnuts would be saying if leftie bloggers were going on and on for hours about skinheads trying to intimidate voters in one voting district.

David Gregory is using old polls that show McCain ahead of Obama in Virginia:

Look at these two screen shots from David Gregory’s show “Race to the White House” today (Tuesday 10/15). Notice something strange? The Virgina poll is over two weeks old, and the North Carolina poll is nine days old. And what do you know, both show McCain with a small lead! Why rely on old data? Maybe because the newer ones conflict with the McCain “Comeback” storyline?

Created: September 22nd, 2008 | Written By: Kathy

Kyle noted earlier today that the number of Americans who believe the economy is getting better is a big fat zero. Now, another poll, this one from CNN/Opinion Research Corporation, makes it clear who most Americans are blaming for the mess we’re in: the Republican Party:

The “Bradley Effect” in Reverse

Created: September 17th, 2008 | Written By: DrGail

Much has been made of the Bradley Effect and its role in pre-election polling.  For those needing a refresher, the Bradley Effect is

Named for Tom Bradley, an African-American who lost the 1982 California governor’s race despite being ahead in voter polls, the Bradley effect refers to a tendency on the part of white voters to tell pollsters that they are undecided or likely to vote for a Black candidate, when, on election day, they vote for his/her white opponent.

The CW is that Obama’s likely results will be about 2 percentage points below what the advance polling suggests.

But what if the reverse is now true, 26 years later?

Obama Campaign Takes Legal Action Against Voter Suppression Tactics in Michigan

Created: September 16th, 2008 | Written By: Kathy

I heard about this through a mailing list I’m on, and I’m glad to see that team Obama is fighting it. Basically, what’s happening is that Republican officials are using lists of foreclosed homes to challenge voters at the polls. The technique is called “caging,” and Republicans have been doing it for years.

Created: June 11th, 2008 | Written By: Kyle E. Moore

The General Election is underway, and it’s time to turn our attention to the final two candidates to remain in the arena.  With five months between now and election day, it would be foolish to think that polls taken today will hold through the summer and into the fall, but it still bears studying them to see what kind of travails lie ahead.
